The International Affairs Forum hosts a discussion on COVID-19 and global public health with Dr. Julio Frenk, President, University of Miami, and former Minister of Health of Mexico. As Minister of Health in Mexico from 2000-2006, Dr. Frenk led the reform of the public health system to cover 55 million previously uninsured citizens. Frenk also served as executive director of evidence and information and policy of the World Health Organization, senior fellow at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and dean of Harvards T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This IAF presentation is moderated by Ken Warner, PhD, dean emeritus of the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan and an IAF Advisory Board member. The program begins with a welcoming statements by Leila Hilal, IAF Director, and President Nick Nissley, President of Northwestern Michigan College. The International Affairs Forum is a program of Northwestern Michigan College and an affiliate of the World Affairs Councils of America.
