Peterson Beach is an incredible stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline. With a parking lot close to the beach, small dunes, and a usually stone-free beach, it is one of the most walkable stretches of shoreline in the area. The only difficulty might be making it to the parking lot; it is located at the end of a long unplowed dirt road, making it inaccessible by car for much of the year. Local Landscapes is a program that highlights the unique beauty of the Central Great Lakes Basin.
