This program describes current biological treatments for bipolar depression and mania. Medications such as mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, antidepressants, and novel agents such as ketamine and esketamine are discussed. Neuromodulation treatments including transcranial magnetic stimulation and ECT, bright light treatment, and sleep deprivation as treatment are described. Rapport and cooperation with treating health professionals is emphasized.
